I’ve been so excited to share this stunning editorial with you! It’s vintage with a sexy twist, oozing with romance with old school red roses – and utterly stunning. Proof that vintage weddings can be glamorous and unique – brought together by a talented group of wedding suppliers in Eastbourne, who took over a lovingly restored independent cinema to make magic for a day. I hope you love this as much as I do! (As always, I’ll be sharing loads more on @englishweddingblog over on insta – including some favourite shots which aren’t on here!

An elopement fashioned on old vintage love, fluffy velvet roses and a timeless era of style. This vintage Cinema styled elopement is what romantic dreams are made of. Bringing back a bit of a vintage/glam vibe into the styling a beautiful 1921 cinema was used as the venue to promote history and add depth to inspire the iconic decade.

An array of deep red fluffy roses was added to create a luxury floristry touch. Our real life couple dressed to match our theme, with our bride draped in a stunning backless white wedding gown matched with long mesh gloves to give an elegant and opulent style. The groom matched with stylish Hollywood era suit. Paired with an old Hollywood glam style of makeup to tie in our theme.

Our stationery was designed in an old cinema style to bring in our table setting and draw attention to details used focusing on what our theme was dedicated to. This was all composed to create a luxurious elopement with room for any kind of budget. Simple yet effective.

A treat for you today – we’re sharing nineties inspired wedding style from a group of talented Spanish wedding suppliers.
The setting: a nineteenth century mansion just outside Barcelona.
The vibe: Hollywood elegance with a twentieth century twist!

The 90s were the inspiration for this editorial photoshoot, an era that continues to drive trends in 2024. Thinking back to the nineties made us think of the song “I Will Always Love You” sung by Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard. We took inspiration from all the glamour of this film to create a styled wedding.

Check out these fabulous Spanish wedding suppliers:

We knew that there was no better location than “Finca Mas Solers”, a Catalan Renaissance-style mansion from the late 19th century that housed, during its golden age, the old Grand Casino of Barcelona. Surrounded by all the glamour, but also by the nature and sun of the wonderful Mediterranean coast, this imagined love story unfolds there. Our model bride, accompanied by her little son making her dream come true.

The decor takes inspiration from the most classic part of the 90s, where monochrome was an overriding wedding trend. Styling touches are all in black and white with a modern twist incorporating minimalism and a flirty touch, two very strong trends.

Of course, there was no shortage of a good vintage-style cake, with the classic “Just Married” and the disco balls at the end of the night, reminiscent of this epic party era, with the cake table surrounded by pretty flowers

With sustainability in mind, all flowers are seasonal, and from local suppliers. They brought an extra layer of elegance and sophistication to the day.

Carol wears a minimalist but voluminous dress with a fluid A-shaped silhouette. The luxurious fabric creates a timeless and elegant look, perfect for a romantic evening without any adornment, giving prominence to the accessories. A bridal cape with flower details was perfect for a ceremony look. Gloves with a touch of glam are perfect for daytime, and for the evening party a mini dress and feather crown transform our model bride into a true queen.

The bridesmaids, dressed in black, wore fabric corsages, instead of the typical ones made of natural flowers, continuing with our commitment to sustainability. The groom and best man wore classic tuxedos, adding an element of luxe and sophistication to the celebration.

The party  aspect of our photoshoot was styled with classic disco balls. Nothing screams Nineties more than disco balls! In addition, we filled the dance floor with bubbles!

The Mediterranean sun, the nature, the joy that everything in Barcelona has, the good food, the glamour of the place and the endless parties are present in this wedding destination that invites us to dream of our perfect wedding and to find that love that will take us to say: I will always love you.

Today’s blog is a vintage styled photoshoot, featuring married couple Melanie & Roger, showcasing the work of a lovely bunch of wedding suppliers at Kearney Abbey and sent to us by NNastia Photography. It’s gorgeous, not least for showcasing a wedding or elopement without ££££ worth of dresses and florals. Sometimes it’s just as beautiful to keep things understated and elegant!

We took vintage wedding style to the next level in this incredible styled shoot with a mature couple at the historic Billiards Room at Kearsney Abbey. Happy couples can now celebrate their wedding day at this Grade II listed venue, offering an intimate and picturesque setting for intimate weddings for up to 40 people. The Billiards Room features floor-to-ceiling oak paneling, period features, and stunning views across the parkland and lake.

Our couple Melanie & Roger, married for five years, didn’t have wedding photos taken at their wedding and wanted to bring awareness to older couples getting married. For both of them, this was their second wedding and you can see their love for each other in all of the photos. A true testament to finding your soulmate at any age! Dressed in their own vintage-inspired wedding outfits, they looked absolutely timeless. Halo Events styled the stunning Billiards Room with vintage-inspired pieces, creating a beautifully cohesive look. Kirsten Hair and Makeup enhanced Melanie’s features with soft makeup and vintage hairstyles, perfectly complementing the theme and highlighting the beautiful headpiece which was Melanie’s own..

Fiona Huntley, a local small business owner, provided the exquisite dried flower bouquet and boutonniere, adding a unique touch to the overall aesthetic. Julie Walker Luxury Cakes crafted a cake that mirrored the earthy, rich tones of the space and decorations, adding to the elegance of the day.

Julie shares her passion, “Making a wedding cake is an absolute privilege. Being asked to be involved in a couple’s special day, bringing to life a cake that is meaningful and deeply personal to them whilst providing a really tasty treat for their guests, it’s just the best!

Temptation Towers provided an audio guest book, adding an extra layer of nostalgia to our vintage theme. Anita Collins, the founder, takes pride in offering high-quality bespoke hire packages, ensuring every event is unique and memorable.

The beautiful stationery, created by The Wrong End of Town, seamlessly tied into our vintage concept incorporating the gold, burgundy and green tones that were the basis of our styling. The Wrong End of Town is another local business that brings to life stationery that reflects the vibe of the wedding and couple effortlessly. Cullen’s Yard provided a vintage car, completing the look with a touch of classic charm.

Jen Woodley Celebrant crafted an intimate and heartfelt ceremony, reflecting the couple’s journey and love story. Jen’s passion for words and creating standout moments made the ceremony truly special. Photography and videography by NNastia Photography, a Dover-based wedding photographer, captured every stunning detail and emotion of the day. Specializing in reportage/documentary wedding photography, Nastia ensures that every moment, big and small, is documented in the most natural way.

The styling of the shoot featured warm earthy tones of wood, gold, burgundy and green, with just a little speck of cooler tones to balance it out. Vintage golden candlesticks, vintage china, real gramophone and cut crystal glassware really brought out the 1930-1940s era we emulated. The florals of the styling and cake featured a mix of deep red, burnt orange and pink, with neutral white roses underpinning the elegance of the room. The bouquet and boutonniere incorporated local wild flowers adding a touch of whimsy and bringing out the cooler undertones of the couple’s outfits.

This styled shoot demonstrates that a stylish, vintage, and intimate wedding can be created to reflect the taste of mature couples, who deserve to be celebrated and showcased in wedding inspiration content. By supporting local businesses and suppliers, we highlighted the beauty and charm of South East Kent, proving that love and elegance have no age limit.

Today’s styled shoot is all elegance and luxury, with minimalist styling touches focusing on quality. Sent in by a group of talented wedding suppliers in Oxford, this is all kinds of gorgeous and I hope you love it too! Images are by Nicola Belson Photography, and the wording below is from Nicola too. As always, there’s lots more to see on @englishweddingblog!

The iconic Randolph Hotel, steeped in centuries-old grandeur, has recently emerged from the ashes of fire damage with a fresh, contemporary spirit. This juxtaposition of old and new provided the perfect canvas to stage a wedding shoot embodying a tropical luxe aesthetic — a seamless blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication.

The synergy of rebirth and renewal was not just in the venue but also in the stories of the talented suppliers who brought this vision to life. Each one had left behind successful careers in diverse fields to pursue their passion in the wedding industry, driven by a love for creativity and a desire to be part of life’s most joyous celebrations.

This shoot was more than just a display of beautiful designs; it was a testament to the power of following one’s heart and reinventing oneself. Their collective journey from old careers to new passions mirrored the hotel’s own transformation, adding a deeper layer of meaning to the shoot.

Styling elements were kept simple yet sophisticated, with monogramed napkins, monochrome stationery and rich velvet bows illuminated by candle light adding a touch of understated luxury.

This minimalist approach allowed the inherent beauty of each detail to shine, creating an atmosphere of effortless elegance.

Our choice of florals played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life. A lush array of dark green tropical leaves paired with the pristine beauty of white orchids, lilies, and roses gave a sense of luxurious minimalism, where each element was thoughtfully chosen to enhance the overall aesthetic without overwhelming it. The greenery provided a lush backdrop, while the white blooms added a touch of refined elegance.

The wedding attire was carefully selected to complement our theme. The day dress was a picture of simplicity and grace, embodying effortless elegance with clean lines and a modern, sultry silhouette. For the evening, we introduced a playful twist with a short, playful sparkly dress that featured customisable elements, allowing for a dynamic transition as the celebration moved from day to night. This versatility highlighted the modern bride’s desire for both timeless beauty and contemporary flair and the growing trend of second dresses.

In essence, this shoot was about celebrating new beginnings – the rebirth of a historic venue, the reinvention of our creative partners, and the timeless beauty of love, all wrapped in the lush, elegant aesthetic of tropical luxe.

We invite couples to draw inspiration from this shoot, knowing that their love story, like The Randolph, is a beautiful blend of history and modernity, tradition and innovation, old and new.

This fabulous shoot has been waiting in my inbox for just the right amount of sunshine to feature… and as I set off on a little adventure this weekend, I am thrilled to be sharing this beautiful editorial with you. Sent in by amazing Lake District wedding photographer Hannah Hall Photography, and planned by super talented cake designer Francesca at Snowdrop Wedding Cakes, the look is simply breathtaking. Cakes are sleek, modern and beautifully crafted with incredible sugar flowers.

Tass Florals’ floral arrangements are delicate and different in soft lilac and peach tones, working exquisite textures together with stunning craftsmanship.

And models Alex & Gregor bring grace, romance and enchantment to Hannah’s images, with love so real you can feel the warmth even through a screen. They aren’t married in real life yet, but Alex says bridal modelling is giving her lots of ideas for what she’ll pick when the day comes!

Glenapp Castle itself is a fairytale wedding venue, the magical towers, turrets, and crenellations revealing themselves as you approach. The glasshouse is a wonderful space with so much character: of course, if budget allows and you fancy getting wed there, you can hire the entire castle for your wedding guests to stay, and really celebrate your big day in style!

A few words from Ayrshire cake designer Francesca at Snowdrop Wedding Cakes:

My goal in putting together the shoot was to create a set of images that were very romantic and timeless. We wanted something quite classic and elegant, with a modern twist – and I think we achieved that.

Glenapp Castle is stunning. We were lucky enough to have exclusive use of the Azalea Glasshouse for the day, which is set in a beautiful walled garden surrounded by the woodland of the estate. Glenapp have recently featured on the BBC’s ‘Amazing Hotels: Behind the Lobby’ and hosted an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars!

Every single one of the suppliers who collaborated on this shoot is incredibly talented and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. Hannah Hall Photography produced the stunning images.

Sonia from Tass Florals created the beautiful floral arrangements. Gill from Artisan Weddings Ayrshire did the styling and catering. The dress and ruffle veil were provided by Emily at Unbridaled in Ayr.

Make up and hair were provided by Laura Dewar and Megan Lindsay respectively. Stationery by Daria at Wedding Artwork, content by Erin at Your Day Unplugged, kilt by MacGregor & McDuff and jewellery was by Sarah Brown. Accessories were provided by Di Hassall (Shoes), Scarlet and Wolfe Headwear (hairpieces) and the Pearl veil was from The Wedding Veil Shop.

There are so many reasons I love this photoshoot – I hope you will adore it as much as I do! The Lake District feels like home to me. I can step outside my house and see the fells from where I live. I spend my weekends high in the mountains whenever I can. It’s the most beautiful place in the world.

Lindeth Fell is an exclusive use Lake District wedding venue for up to 26 guests. It has lush gardens and views of Lake Windermere, and feels secluded and welcoming – perfect for a boutique wedding with your favourite people in the world. Working with one of our favourite Lake District wedding photographers Tiree Dawson, Lindeth Fell became home for a day to this stunning editorial photoshoot, which I hope will inspire your own weddings and elopements.

Tiree’s photos from Lindeth Fell are out of this world. Tiree’s elegant and relaxed editing style goes hand in hand with intimate weddings and is a perfect match for my favourite Lakes wedding venues. The romantic colour palette with pinks and rust tones couldn’t look lovelier: Tiree is truly one of the best. (When she sent me the calligraphy photos back in May I looked at them over and over and over – I think I lost half a working day peeking and happy dancing around my kitchen!)

Gwyneth looks amazing in dresses from Windermere boutique Julia Tasker Bridal Couture. Julia’s dresses are always elegant, sophisticated and of the highest quality – Julia herself is the loveliest of people and I will recommend her to any bride!

I have to confess that I love this photoshoot even more because my calligraphy was a big part of it. Alongside luxury wedding dresses from Julia Tasker and breathtaking florals by Free Range Floristry, you’ll spot my personalised wedding vow booklets in calligraphy.

The beauty of this photoshoot is how understated and beautiful it is. It captures the romance in the quietness of an elopement, and the magic of a smaller celebration in a beautiful home away from home. Free Range Floristry’s bouquet is exquisite in soft pastels with delicate petals – pure springtime bliss!

Softness and cosy vibes come via Oubas Knitwear – the perfect gentle touch for English weddings! I adore Gwyneth’s cardigan in a gorgeous eri silk and undyed cashmere. It has a natural copper tone, the warmth of cashmere with the drape of silk – the perfect relaxed cover up for a countryside bride.

Do check out the full list of Lake District wedding suppliers below – they’re all lovely humans and highly recommended! And for more beautiful images and Jono Symonds’ video from this stunning styled (not real!) elopement, follow our instagram @englishweddingblog

This BEAUTY of a shoot landed in my inbox this morning. I’d been planning to write about my calligraphy for weddings today, but all the lush greenery and the connection between Rae and  Grey just blew me away. I couldn’t wait to share this! If houseplants are your thing, and the thought of bringing nature inside for your big day sounds amazing, you will LOVE this styled photoshoot!

The amazing wedding suppliers who brought this photoshoot to life include lovely Mercedes from 4YaParty Weddings & Events and Eastbourne’s fabulous Thorn & Found Photography.

This stunning botanical disco wedding with a touch of rustic décor compels a new inspiration for modern weddings.

This beautifully designed concept by 4yaparty also creating décor and props for this styled shoot was a perfect match to Kingswood Arts, a not-for-profit arts centre and cultural hub venue dedicated to supporting its local community through creativity. Based in a stunning 32 room mansion this space was perfect to help create an ultimate rustic disco themed wedding.

Our models, real life couple Rae and Grey portrayed a romantic story within the old halls of this building, beautifully showcasing the designs from each wedding supplier.

Our bride was fashioned with two timeless dresses provided by Couturiosity, paired with inspiring jewellery from Bish Bosh Becca. Hair and makeup from Made up by Ruby was a match made in heaven to bring together our bridal look. Bridal accessories provided by Glorious by Heidi include a stunning crown piece to elevate a classic look and bridal sunglasses for a touch of untraditional styling.

Our beautiful maid of honour Elle Andrews modelled a gorgeous jewel crusted emerald piece by L’Amour Curves Bridal which tied in exquisitely with the theme and décor of this wedding.

Speaking of décor, the floristry by Harleys Flowers finished our couple’s look with a blooming and abundant bouquet and buttonhole piece.

Table stationery tied together the look with unique designs by Twenty Stationery.

The cake by Simply Irresistible Cakes London was a perfect addition for our ceremony, making a wonderful centre piece for the cake table. Matching with earth colours and rustic design it pulled the décor into one.

The light and airy photography style was key to the story that Nick from Thorn and Found Photography wanted to showcase. Finding a photographer to match a certain aesthetic is always important when thinking about how you want to remember your special day.

A glorious styled shoot full of vibrant colour that says: be you. The couple in this stunning photoshoot are Jay & Sam, who inspire us with their thoughtful insta posts and their beautiful, brave and curious / adventurous outlook on life. The Stranger Things inspired cassette tape place names and 80s nostalgia in these images are fabulous and we’d love to see more of this at weddings! The cake is a real talking point – what better nod to the Upside Down could there possibly be?!

With amazing photos by lovely Hannah Hall Photography.

At Huntsmill Farm we are known for our 18th-century stone barn on our family farm, with rustic timber fences, and steel storage units. To create a contrast to our background, we created the styled shoot ‘Love is Strange’ heavily inspired by the hit TV show, Stranger Things. The concept was to create an ‘80s-themed editorial shoot, with a brief to include dark, moody elements.

We worked with stylist The White Emporium with the brief to create a dark, moody, theme with ‘80s elements, alongside photographer Hannah Hall Photography and videographer Gina Fernandes Photography.

When it came to a colour scheme, we wanted to focus our shoot around the Pantone colour of the year – Viva Magenta. We used this colour throughout our styling, and to complement this and the Stranger Things theme we also incorporated darker shades of black, purple, and navy, alongside highlights of pinks, oranges, and reds.

Our styling involved a lot of ‘80s-inspired décor, from disco balls to Walkmans, boomboxes and vintage cameras. The venue was decorated with a neon sign from Stardust Events and colourful lighting, alongside a rustic set up with a rattan table and chair set.

Our stationery took inspiration from Stranger Things, using the font and colours, designed by Peach Wolfe. The stationery was created with a bold colour scheme and incorporated the ‘80s elements such as cassette tapes as placenames.

The tablescape was set under a canopy of hanging disco balls, draped with dark fabric. The table itself was laid with draping fabric, and Wren Ark provided the tableware, a mix of blue, red, and black glassware. Jade Flower Boutique created the floral arrangements, incorporating the colour scheme and viva magenta Pantone colour within the flowers.

When it came to the cake, we wanted to play on the Stranger Things theme and create an upside down cake. J Bakes Cakes designed a bespoke upside-down black cake with various textures to complement the theme, adorned with disco balls and pink and red flowers from Jade Flower Boutique.

Our models Jay and Sam from Pulse is Racing wore outfits from ASOS incorporating the ‘80s theme and our colour scheme. We decided to feature a real same-sex male couple for our concept to represent the LGBTQI+ community in a true, authentic way, and to show that love is for everyone.
